EXCITEMENT
Isn’t it what drives us all?
It’s not motivation or inspiration that we seek.
I feel it’s excitement…and that excitement either motivates or inspires us to accomplish our goals.
I still remember after finishing my first oil painting, I was so excited about painting that I wanted to paint a hundred paintings at the same time…( being a teenager added to that hyper energy), but my teacher, as wise as he was, would bring me to earth and guide me to choose the next painting.
I knew that I wanted to paint any and every subject and not stay confined to one particular style.
So I decided after the landscape, let me try the seascape.
And with all enthusiasm, I finished it quite fast ( two months I think).
And the excitement continued into the next painting and the one after that and so on.
I don’t remember a single class where I would enter the studio at six in the morning and not be excited.
I still get excited before I start a new painting.
