About
Always been attracted to the rich versatility of oil painting, my artistic journey truly began in 1995. For four transformative years, I honed my skills under the mentorship of a seasoned artist, learning the nuances of this captivating medium. This foundational experience ignited a deep desire within me to express the intricate inner landscapes of the soul through my art.
Growing up, I found sanctuary in silence, navigating a home of conflict and the pressure to be the perfect child. My art became the only space where I could truly breathe, painting not what I saw, but what I felt: inner landscapes of longing, silence, and emotion.
This search for sanctuary deepened over two decades between 2001 and 2021, as my body became a battleground, a pilgrimage of pain and illness. Between 2001 and 2021, I endured this two-decade journey that shaped me to who I am.
From Stevens-Johnson Syndrome to repeated bouts of dengue, from a massive umbilical hernia surgery that left me cut open from pelvic to pelvic, to hormone imbalances, large concerning ovarian cysts, and ultimately a final surgery in 2021, my body became a battleground. Hospital corridors, endless scans, ultrasounds and blood tests became part of my calendar.
And yet … I painted. I never stopped.
My art is more than just creation; it's a profound journey into the human spirit. Each piece I bring to life is a reflection of hidden histories and the incredible resilience found within. Ultimately, my art heals, offering solace, prompting reflection, and illuminating pathways to inner strength.
Somewhere along my journey, a profound realization emerged: I'm not just an artist, I'm a healer.
My paintings are far from merely ornamental: they are declarations. Each stroke channels memory, emotion, and raw energy into what I now call Soulscapes: abstract reflections of the intricate, unseen inner world.
I primarily work with oil and acrylic, often layering them to evoke the diverse textures of human experience. Through color, form, and texture, my work becomes a powerful affirmation of the inner world's ability to endure and transform.
My creative process is deeply personal; I paint phases of life as they unfold, allowing whatever I'm living through to become the very essence of the work.
These Soulscapes might manifest as a serene seascape, a rugged abstract terrain, a symbolic doorway, or a shimmering spiritual veil. Ultimately, I follow intuition over genre, letting the inner journey guide the outward expression.
My work is not of landscapes you can visit, but of places you carry within you. This is the art of the Soulscape, a map of the inner world, a reflection of the silent terrains we navigate every day.
Each piece is an attempt to translate the ineffable: the quiet strength of a mountain that holds a memory, the turbulent currents of a river representing emotion, the vast, shifting skies of a restless spirit. I use color not to mimic nature, but to capture the temperature of a feeling. My brushstrokes are not of trees and stone, but of the very pulse of being.
Through these visual metaphors, I seek to build a bridge between my inner journey and your own. My hope is that in these abstract landscapes, you will find a familiar vista, a place of solace, a moment of profound recognition, or the courage to explore the unchartered territories of your own heart.
This is a shared journey. May you see your own soul reflected in the horizons I create.
"For me, life itself is a soulscape...an unfolding journey of inner discovery I express through my art."
