This painting, The Layers of Truth, is more than a piece of art to me—it’s a reflection of my journey, my battle, and ultimately, my surrender. When I began working on this, I didn’t fully understand what I was reaching for. I only knew there was something buried deep within me, something waiting to emerge.
For years, I lived under the weight of conditioning.
Layers of expectations, beliefs, and fears shaped who I thought I was. Like many of us, I wore masks to fit into roles...roles I didn’t choose, but somehow accepted.
Those layers felt safe, but they were suffocating, hiding the raw, vulnerable essence of my true self.
As I applied the first strokes of grey....I felt the surface of those layers emerge.
These colors symbolize the external—the polished exterior we present to the world.
But as I worked, I felt compelled to go deeper, to dig through the layers, no matter how painful or uncomfortable it became.
The cracks and textures you see here represent that excavation process. It wasn’t smooth or easy—it was raw, messy, and vulnerable. Every mark felt like tearing away at something false to reveal what was real.
Beneath the blues, I found bursts of yellow light and fiery reds.
To me, they symbolize the innermost layers that protect the truth.
The divine core of who I am,
buried but never extinguished.
The ultimate hidden truth that believes strongly in BALANCE ( represented by the universal symbol of balance - the Yin and Yang).
That light was always there, waiting for me to uncover it.
This journey wasn’t just about art; it was deeply spiritual.
I realized that uncovering my truth meant more than just peeling back personal layers. It was about connecting to something greater—a universal essence that ties us all together.
It was about understanding that the process of self-discovery is sacred, even when it feels like chaos.
As I stand before this painting now, I don’t just see colors and textures. I see my soul’s story.
I see the struggles, the revelations, and the freedom that comes from embracing my authentic self.
And I want others to feel that too. I want this painting to remind everyone that their truth is worth uncovering, no matter how deeply it’s buried or how hard the journey feels.
In the end, this isn’t just a painting—it’s a testament to transformation, to peeling back the layers until you find the light that was always there, waiting to shine.
